Well, no need for fancy intros, I suppose. If you’ve followed this blog, you know that we have spent the last year using process of elimination to create a Top 100 Games list for the Sega Genesis, and Friday we made the final elimination. So… now what?
Well, our ultimate goal is to create a ranked Top 100 Sega Genesis Games list, as opposed to the somewhat disorganized “100 Sega games that don’t suck as much as all the other Sega games, in alphabetical order” list that we have now. It’s going to take some time to get really, really familiar with each of the remaining games, to write the articles, and to hopefully add a couple of new writers, so we’ll be taking a break for a while. Expect to see us start counting down the Top 100 sometime early next year.
In the meantime, this blog will not be sitting around idly. I’ll be moving over a lot of my previous work onto this site, as well as writing up a few new things. Sure, a lot of the old articles have been published before, but it’s still good stuff, and if you missed it before, definitely worth checking out. If you haven’t yet seen The Ten Most 80s-ish Games of All Time, The Bard’s Tale Play, and my attempt to learn about soccer by playing FIFA ’07, be sure to keep checking back in the next few weeks for that. The 80s games article even got rejected by Cracked. If you think about it, that’s pretty much the same thing as getting published in the New York Times.
